Designer: Charles (1907-1978) & Ray (1912-1988) Eames

Labeled as two of the most significant American designers of the century, Charles and Ray Eames who married in 1941, are two of the worlds most valued contributes to the world of furniture design, industrial design and manufacturing & architecture.

Using it as an agent for social change, the 'design power couple,' took advantage of the era’s visionary concept of modern design and developed partnerships with leaders in the industry such as the Herman Miller Company. In doing so, they experimented with and used new materials and technologies, which inspired the creation of pioneering furniture designs that are still prominent today. Among these famous designs are the Eames Lounge Chair, the Wire Chair, the Elliptical Coffee Tables, the DCM (Dining chair Metal) series, the DCW (Dining Chair Wood), DSW (Dining Side Chair Wooden Legs) and the DSR (Dining Side Chair Rod Legs), just to name a few.
